Review: All-In Live Went All Out In Miami

The All-In Podcast is an unfiltered, often polarizing tech-meets-politics-meets-business roundtable hosted by Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, and David Friedberg. The latest of their live event series was All-In Live: Miami. If you’re a regular listener of the podcast, you already know what to expect: candid takes, sharp disagreements, smart bets on tech and politics, and the occasional viral moment. The live version amplified all of that with the added thrill of seeing it unfold in real time, in front of a very plugged-in Miami crowd. And, best of all, the star-studded surprise guests blew our minds.

Here’s our full take.

First Off, What Is The All-In Podcast?

The All-In Podcast is a weekly conversation between four high-profile tech and business insiders, each bringing a different perspective to topics like startups, markets, politics, and society. The tone is unscripted and opinionated, with hot takes, memes, and the occasional bout of insider bickering. It has a passionate following, especially among people in venture, crypto, and the broader business world. Recently, it’s gotten more political and has shifted to a guest-centric format, but the four core personalities are still front and center:

  • Chamath Palihapitiya, a venture capitalist and entrepreneur who previously served as an early senior executive at Facebook

  • Jason Calacanis, angel investor and author most famous for his early backing of Uber

  • David Sacks, co-founder and general partner of Craft Ventures and former COO of PayPal

  • David Friedberg, entrepreneur and angel investor, and one of the first 1,000 employees and a founding member of Google's Corporate Development group

And What Was The All-In Live Event?

The All-In Live: Miami event was announced with sparse details:

Join us on for a can't-miss All-In Live experience during F1 weekend.

Your all-inclusive ticket grants admission to two unforgettable events, including All-In Live on stage and our Sunset Party & Networking Event at the iconic Fontainebleau Miami.

Special guests will be announced closer to the event.

The special guests were, in fact, not announced closer to the event but we decided to go anyway! And we were not disappointed.

Let’s Talk About The Lineup

Hands down the biggest win of the night? The guest appearances. Each new reveal was more exciting than the last. The live conversation was so dynamic that what was supposed to be a two-hour show ended up running over three hours, and no one was complaining.

Here’s who we saw:

  • Antonio Gracias is the founder and CEO of Valor Equity Partners, which has $16 billion in assets. Most recently, he stepped into the political world through DOGE. He opened the night strong with incredible poise and thoughtfulness in his answers.

  • Francis Suarez, the current mayor of Miami, was up next. He brought energy and optimism about the city’s growing role as a global tech hub and a fairly balanced perspective on politics overall.

  • Nico Rosberg is a former Formula One world champion turned venture capitalist. It was so cool to hear him talk about his rivalry with Lewis Hamilton in a surprisingly open way.

  • Tony Robbins basically needs no introduction. His appearance was an electric jolt of charisma and he even did a live exercise with the audience.

  • Sergey Brin closed out the lineup with an extremely rare public appearance. Hearing the Google co-founder talk candidly about AI was a true highlight.

How cool is that list of speakers??

The Party Definitely Took A Back Seat

The evening kicked off with a pre-show reception that included a wine and beer open bar and a single caviar bite. The caviar wasn’t exactly memorable, and the crowd took a while to warm up. We much prefer a cocktail to a glass of wine, so this wasn’t particularly exciting for us. But honestly, once the show began, none of that really mattered.

After the show, there was also an after party with a full open bar (liquor included), passed bites, a huge buffet, and music. While it wasn’t exactly the hottest party in Miami, it was a fun and casual way to wind down the night.

If we’re being completely honest (and we always are) the crowd left something to be desired. It leaned more tech networking than a true social scene. The mingling was a bit forced and many people left early or skipped the party all together. After we ate and got an old fashioned, we left as well.

The Tickets Were Well Priced, Considering

There were two ticket options. You could opt for a VIP ticket that included a seated dinner and priority seating (as well as a copy of the latest book by Tony Robbins). Nice to have, but for most attendees, the general admission tickets priced at $225 per person offered plenty of value considering the caliber of the speakers. The unlimited food and drink offered a nice touch as well.

Final Verdict

This event was a big hit for us. Whether you love or hate the podcast, we think everyone would enjoy the variety of speakers and the unique experiences they discussed. Even if we didn’t agree with every perspective, we always find it valuable to hear a range of perspectives.

So should you go to the next All-In Live event? Based on our experience, yes.
